PREVIEW - DC Everest baseball vs Merrill

by Chris Conley

EVERYTHING EVERGREENS (FOX SPORTS WAUSAU-WSAU) As of this writing, the DC Everest vs Merrill baseball game is still on. Merrill's field has taken a lot of water, but were also drying out quickly today.

I see the glass as half-full after the Evergreens were no-hit against SPASH. Everest hit four or five line-drives that could have been hits, they just didn't fall or were run down by SPASH outfielders. As I re-think Tuesdays game, I think Everest had more hard-hit balls than SPASH did. The Evergreens did themselves no favors by throwing the ball around leading to the game's only run.

Merrill will be a much easier opponent. Merrill's been more impacted by the weather than any other Wisconsin Valley Conference team, losing games 7 games to the weather. They've only played once, a 5-4 loss to a DCE common-opponent, Wisconsin Rapids. The Evergreens opened the season with a 7-0 win over the Red Raiders.

The Evergreens will be favored if we get today's game in. We're scheduled for a live broadcast on Fox Sports AM-1390 FM-93.9 starting at 4:15pm. First pitch is at 4:30. Our second game tonight will be Wausau-East vs. Rapids, which will also be a live broadcast at 7pm.
