Lumberjacks Start the Season Well

by Tom King

Adams-Friendship didnt have any answers for the East Lumberjacks baseball team on Thursday. The Jacks beat the Green Devils 16-0 in a game shortened to five innings by the 10 run rule.

Luke Strick and Ben Schubring teamed up on the mound to limit A-F to just 2 hits on the afternoon.

The offense took advantage of some shoddy A-F defense to take a 5-0 lead after three innings and then blew the game open in the 4th with 10 runs scored after two were out.]

Bryce Widmark went 2-3 with a double and 3 rbis. Jordan Heiting & Schubring had 2 hits apiece.

The Lumberjacks are scheduled to play at Chippewa Falls tonight and I'll have the game on Foxsports Wausau AM1390 & FM 93.9 at 4:15...430 first pitch.

Elsewhere the East girls soccer team came up short at Marshfield 5-1. Mallory Wanzerski had the only goal for East.

Friday's schedule includes the East golf team competing at Wisconsin Dells
