Tough Back-To Back Games For Jacks

by Tom King

The Wausau East Lumberjack baseball team heads to Appleton North tonight for a non-conference game. You can hear it as the 2nd game of our doubleheader following the DCE-Wausau West game on Foxsports Radio AM1390 & FM 93.9. I'll be on the air around 7pm. Appleton North is 10-0 this season including a DH sweep of Wisconsin Rapids.

The Lumberjacks are coming off a 6-0 loss to Stevens Point on Friday night. SPASH is one of the better teams in the state and the East pitching staff gave them too many chances ...8 walks and 3 hit batsmen in the game provided the Panthers with lots of base runners.

East only managed two Willy Brand hits against 3 SPASH pitchers including ace Austin Schulfer.

East has another non-conference game on Tuesday as they are scheduled to host Rhinelander, which would be the first home game of the year at wet Jack Torresani Field.
