A Long Shot

by Seth Mela

15-year-old Fu Wengui of Beijing, China has a CRAZY long neck. Like, picture the longest neck you've ever seen . . . it's about the same length as his entire head.

Fu has a spinal deformity called congenital scoliosis, and he has three extra vertebrae in his neck. He's constantly in pain because of it . . . and he can barely move it.

But there's good news for him. Doctors at Chaoyang Hospital in Beijing believe they've come up with a revolutionary surgical plan that could take his neck down to a normal size . . . and a size that doesn't cause him constant pain.

A charity is going to pay for the entire surgery, which should be happening later this month.
