Packers, Raji close to a deal

With free agency right around the corner, the Packers are apparently close to bringing back defensive lineman B.J. Raji before he hits the open market.  Adam Schefter of ESPN reported this morning the Packers and Raji are close to an agreement on a one year contract.    General Manager Ted Thompson declined to exercise the franchise tag on any of his large group of unrestricted free agents earlier this week.   Raji may move back to his preferred position of nose tackle in Green Bay's 3-4 defense.   Players with expiring contracts are able to negotiate with other teams beginning this weekend but the first day they can actually sign contracts is next Tuesday.

Linebacker Mike Neal apparently hasn't heard anything from the team, tweeting today, "sometimes you gotta let disrespect motivate you."  Neal made the transition from defensive end to outside linebacker during the 2013 season.
