I first read this letter this morning in the local paper, and then went and found it online. Nowhere does this young lady suggest she is contemplating abortion, yet Sugar and Mitchell pretty quickly jump to "if you decide to keep the baby" and advise her to contact Planned Parenthood.
The comments below this story include one who says PP will simply advise her to get an abortion, while another claims that's merely a conservative stereotype and that PP isn't all about abortion. PP isn't just all about abortion, it's all about PROFITING from abortion. It's how it makes its money. I know I'm reading between the lines here, but I suspect Sugar and Mitchell believe ending this pregnancy would be the best for all and they know darned well that's the most likely outcome if this teen goes to PP. We have posted in the past videos recorded in PP clinics where they convince young girls that abortion is far safer than carrying a baby to term. Make no mistake; PP's primary mission is abortion provider and Sugar and Mitchell surely know that.
If they were going to advise her where to seek counsel, why not include PP with a host of other possibilities, as one poster beneath the letter suggests? It would have been more intellectually honest to advise her to have an abortion. Instead they hide behind the myth the PP is all about "family planning" when they know full well how this will end should she go there.
