Way too many polysyllabic words, as George Will is wont to do, but this piece makes a brilliant point. Liberals have painted science as cool, detached and by its very nature devoid of being partisan. Will pointing out that it's these cool, detached practioners of the scientific method who have been doing all the howling and name-calling in the past 20 years on this issue.

Last year Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe, the conservative leader on the AGW debate, said on my show that he believed 2009 was going to be a watershed year for the global warming skeptic. In fact, he called it "the year of the skeptic." I was doubtful and said many more battles would be fought before the war of exposing man-caused global warming as fraud would be won. I still largely believe that, but I am now convinced that Inhofe was right in that much more territory was won in this war in 2009 than I first realized.
