The faux Maverick is at it again. Feingold tells WISN TV in Milwaukee he's not sure whether Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid should step aside over comments Feingold calls "unfortunate and racially insensitive." And Feingold claims not to have made up his mind on whether Reid should step down:
"I'm thinking about that and we're going to be getting together as a caucus next week and the topic will come up. I have not decided whether these comments merit that or not. They're very unfortunate. They should have never been said. So, I need to think about it."
Feingold is the master of appearing to give thoughtful consideration to issues and not immediately towing the party line. Here's a stretch prediction on my part: after "thoughtful consideration" Feingold will tow the party line.
