Historically, this is not a good sign. Early on it appeared Neumann's record as a House member and his previous statewide run for U.S. Senate, a narrow loss to Russ Feingold, might make this a strong two man race between Neumann and Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker. But Walker, who bowed out in 2006 when it became apparent he couldn't compete with Mark Green, certainly appears to be the candidate in charge at this point.
