Yes, it's Keith Olbermann, so consider the source. I was watching MSNBC because I wanted to engage in some Schadenfraude as the votes came in from Mass. Olbermann pointed to the 1966 Mid-term elections where Republicans made huge gains and argued it was a racially tinged victory for the GOP, coming in the wake of the civil rights legislation of 1964-65.
Olbermann than suggested that Scott Brown's trademark pick-up truck is some type of racist code that a vote for Brown is a vote against a black president. This is MASSACHUSETTS! Not exactly the birthplace of the "redneck with a pick-up" stereotype. From throwing Coakley under the bus to fixating on Brown's "Cosmo" days, I have to admit this is fun to watch!
