I support the sale of raw Milk in Wisconsin. No ifs ands or buts. So I'm not a moderate on this issue, yet I find myself in the middle. Allow me to explain: I agree with state officials who say there is a risk of disease from drinking raw milk. If we were to stop pastuerizing ALL sold milk, this threat would be great. Nobody is proposing that and those buying raw milk need to accept the risks.

On the other hand...the claims of health benefits from raw milk included in this story are ridiculous. It doesn't cure autism; it's not magical. But I drank it for the first 18 years of my life and would like the option of buying it every now and again. My position is firm on this, but my reasoning is between both sides. This is not unlike my position on the proposed Sheboygan County Mosque.

Supporters of the mosque say fears that it could be a breeding ground for violence are absurd. No, they're not. Mosques are shrouded in secrecy and have been breeding grounds for terrorism. Opponents say this threat is enough to circumvent the First Amendment right to a place of worship. No, it isn't. The greatest threat to freedom truly is freedom itself. People can plot dangerous acts ANYWHERE they are allowed to legally assemble. It's a threat that comes with the right to assemble. And no not all muslims are terrorists. Concerns that SOME maybe, including those who might gather at the Town of Wilson mosque, is not altogether irrational. Thinking that you can ease that concern by circumventing their First Amendment right IS irrational. Neither position is moderate, but both are in the middle of two factions who are running more on emotion than logic.
