Earlier this week we shared an opinion piece from the Wall Street Journal where the author argued that if Iran gets nuclear weapons during President Obama's administration he'll be remembered for that more than any domestic achievement, including health care reform.

In fact, it made the argument that if that happens Obama's legacy will closely resemble that of British P.M. Neville Chamberlain, who oversaw a British economic recovery from the global depression of the 1930's but is remembered for his appeasement policy toward Hitler. In the wake of that opinion piece, the WSJ reports this today. My guess is even the toughest sanctions may not be enough, but this move sends a clear signal to Iran as to exactly how weak the U.S. is going to be on this issue. And the signal it's sending is a chilling one.
