"Good Luck! Kick Ass!"

That encouragement to Paul Ryan comes from...senior citizens in Ohio. As others have pointed out, seeing how great Ryan is performing on the road, this pick now seems obvious. It wasn't. And as I now admit, I think Ryan may have been a better pick than my first choice, Marco Rubio. Of course that's unfair because we're not getting a chance to see Rubio perform.

But Ryan has been nothing short of spectacular as a campaigner and I truly believe that's why Vice President Joe Biden's gaffes are suddenly worrying the left where they use to just ignore them in the past. As my boss likes to say: "a number is just a number until you compare it to another number." The left knew Biden was a dolt but didn't consider it a serious liability...until you could compare him to someone. That someone is Paul Ryan. And the contrast is so stark it has people wondering whether Biden is competent to be president if called upon and whether President Obama should stick with him.

It's a long way to November and Ryan could stub his toe, more than once. But it sure looks as though he'll have a lot more good days than bad.
