We've covered this issue extensively on the show; neighbors of wind developments in several parts of Wisconsin have complained about the noise and other effects of turbines. Bryce points out here what I've said many times on the show; Big Wind is the only industry given the benefit of the doubt by the media when members of the public claim its product causes adverse effects.

You put "green" on any development and if the envrionmentalist left is okay with it, the media won't touch it. You saw the same thing with a trash to energy development in Green Bay. City officials, especially Mayor Jim Schmitt, loved the idea of this "green" facility, so much so they didn't do due dilligence. So, when concerns arose they pulled permits and Oneida Seven Generations, the developer is now suing the city.

As this piece points out, it's too late to pull the plug on turbines already in place. But pulling the plug on a subsidy for an industry that cannot stand on its own and proving in court that people who claim they've been harmed by turbines aren't kooks, will be a major victory in slowing down development of an industry that has not been properly vetted where health issues are concerned.
