Erpenbach claimed he needed his own legal team because he couldn't trust the Justice Department to defend him. The MacIver Institute was pretty pleased with this court result, based on a news release they issued. So, it doesn't sound as though taxpayer money was well spent. And I love how Erpenbach says $60,000 was spent because the MacIver Institute wasn't happy with what it got. No, the money was spent because Erpenbach chose to spend it.
