Rush Limbaugh touched on this on Friday's show. The left is apoplectic because the new movie about getting bin Laden, "Zero Dark Thirty"more than implies that waterboarding extracted information that led to bin Laden. Naomi Wolf is among the liberals going off the deep end about this. She points out that five decades of reserarch shows torture doesn't work. Really; if I threatened to chop off one of Wolf's toes if she didn't tell me something that she knew, you don't think that would work?
Torture does work but that's really beside the point here. Wolf assumes President Obama was telling the truth when he said he was ending waterboarding, which I do not consider to be torture. He has amped up almost every anti-terror program George W. Bush put in place. This movie doesn't violate fact it violates a belief system. And liberals usually freak out when someone tells them the world isn't the way they believe it to be. You could call this the "clump of tissue" syndrome.
