Now, there are two ways to look at this: One is that this shows increased gun control is the mainstream "common sense" position and those who oppose it are a fringe element. Or, this shows the group think bias of the media we conservatives have talked about for years. But increased restrictions on all semi-automatic weapons is neither common sense nor mainstream.

The problem is the media has done an effective job of confusing the public. It's shocking to me how many people think semi-automatic means fully automatic. That includes one of my siblings who was raised in the gun culture, as was I. This misinformation campaign has been extremely effective and the gun rights crowd needs to recognize that fact and combat it.
