Here is some good news to combat all the bad news that we have to sift through...
83-year-old Howard Cooper has owned Howard Cooper Imports . . . a car dealership in Ann Arbor, Michigan . . . since 1965.
--Howard decided it was time to retire, and last Wednesday, he announced that he was selling the dealership to an Ohio company called Germain Motor Company.
--But Howard gave his employees a bonus to help soften the bad news. EACH of the 89 employees at Howard Cooper Imports got $1,000 for every year they'd worked there.
--Even people who just started a month ago got some money. Howard prorated it, so they got $83. People that worked there for six months got $500. A mechanic who has worked there for 26 years got $26,000. The guy that drives the parts van got $28,000.
--And Sandy Reagan, who has worked for Howard since 1966, walked away with a check for $46,000.
Sometimes the generosity of others can inspire us to look around and see where we may be able to help others.
