My husband and I have three kids, and the oldest of the bunch is our 16-year-old daughter.
--She's going through that phase where she keeps bu
gging us about putting a lock on her door.
--When I was a kid, I wasn't allowed to have a lock on my door. Neither was my husband.
--I don't want her locking herself in there with her loud music, or even worse, her boyfriend. Especially since I still remember how I was at that age.
--Unfortunately, our daughter knows how to wear her daddy down . . . and now my husband's actually considering it. He still sees her as a little girl and foolishly thinks we can trust her no matter what.
--Should I allow my 16-year-old to have a lock on her door? Does any teenager deserve the extra privacy?
