Listening to the 8th inning of yesterdays Brewer-Cub game was excruitating. Latroy Hawkins, who has been around a long time and had pitched well, had two outs and a three run lead. No problem right? well, the Cubs rallied scoring 4 and pulling out the win 7-6. As Hawkins was melting down there was no sign of Trevor Hoffman. He should be able to get 4 outs in a save situation. As it was, they held Hoffman for a save that disappeared. The Brewers have been unable to put together a complete perfomance on the mound. Either the starters or relievers have struggled. Dave Bush pitched well to win yesterday and when your 4th or 5th starters keep you in a game...those are the ones you need to put away. It's early but remember, April games count the same as  September ones.

The Bucks finsih the regular season with a win. They will play Atlanta in the first round and will need to find a defensive answer for Joe Johnson who has torched the Bucks this season. Some of the other matchups could be interesting including CHicago-Cleveland and the Lakers(with a banged up Kobe) against the upstart Oklahoma City Thunder.

A mismatch got out of hand Tuesday in a high school baseball game between Three Lakes and Phelps. Three Lakes had 22 runs, 23 hits,21 walks and 11 steals......in the first inning. They were ahead 45-0 in the 3rd when the coaches decided to stop the game. It will go down in the book as a forfeit as the WIAA doesnt recognize games that don't go at least 5 innings. It was a conference game so it had to be played .
