The WIAA is considering a major change to the Wisconsin Valley Conference for football. In order to solve the scheduleing problems that have plagued some schools over the last few years they are proposing a merger of the WVC and the Fox Valley Association to form a 16 team league split into two eight team divisions. The Fox Valley Association consists of Appleton East, Appleton North, Appleton West, Fond du Lac, Kaukauna, Kimberly, Menasha, Neenah, Oshkosh North & Oshkosh West. they would join up with DC Everest, Wausau West, Wausau East, MArshfield, Wisconsin Rapids and Stevens Point. The plan will be considered at meetings of the Borad of Control on May 14th and June 24th.
The Pirates beat Trevor Hoffman and the Brewers last night. Hoffman has blown 3 saves in the first month of the season. day baseball today as the teams finish their series at Miller Park...pregame at 11:30 on WSAU
The Bucks have become very entertaining to watch. They have alot of energy. Brandon Jennings says they have no pressure because no one gives them a chance. If they can play with the intensity they showed the last two games they will give Atlanta a scare tonight.
Wausau West got what they needed yesterday...a complete game pitching performance from John Roberts in an 8-4 win over Wausau East. Roberts struck out 13 and only made a few mistakes including a fastball that was up and nailed for a three run homer by Riley Simmons. The Lumberjacks take too many pitches, especially in hitter's counts.
Zach Wendorf also had a good day...tossing a no-hitter as the Merrill Bluejays beat Antigo.
Songs fo the Day (from my I-pod)
Fins-Jimmy Buffett (1979) from his "Volcano" Lp..a very entertaining LP...comes this tale of of the dangers of the singles bar scene. No one parties like the Parrotheads.
Fire-Bruce Springsteen (1978) he wrote it for Elvis but it was the Pointer Sisters that had a hit with it. The Boss didnt record it until 1987 from one of his live peformances.
