Thank You for all the good wishes on our baseball success this season. The Wausau Post 10 Bulldogs will begin their journey today as we head to the Northwest Regional in Spokane Washington. This is my 3rd trip to the National Regional in 28 years of coaching and it is always a special time. The memories for the players will be something they'll talk about for the rest of their lives. The hard work and preperation that these players have done in the past have led them to this moment. This is a veteran team and are going west knowing that if they play up to their capabilities they will have a chance to do what no Wisconsin team has ever done...advance to the American Legion World Series. That event is also being held in Spokane this year so I'm told that whoever wins this regional will stay in Spokane as the World Series would start two days later.
The event is being held at the beautiful Patterson Baseball Complex on the campus of Gonzaga University.
If youd like to follow the games they are being streamed on the internet by Spokane radio station KSBN at www.ksbn.net. You can also follow the games with the game traacker feature on the national American Legion website. Our first game is Thursday at 4:30 Pacific time...6:30 Central time. We play the Oregon State champs from Roseburg, Oregon. The other teams that are in the field include Boise, Idaho, Missoula Montana, Kelso Pacific Tech(Washington State Champs), Dimond Post 21(Anchorage, Alaska), Cheyenne, Wyoming and the host team from Spokane.
I'll try to report in each day around 8:10 Central time on the WSAU Wisconsin Morning News to keep you updated on our progress.
We fly out of Milwaukee first thing Wednesday morning with a three hour layover in Las Vegas(no time to visit the Strip) before heading into Spokane Wednesday afternoon. There is a banquet for all the teams Wednesday night.
Once again thanks for the support and I'll talk with you soon.
