It wasn't the "Miracle on Ice" but the young American squad still surprised the hockey world with a 5-3 win over Canada last night. It wasnt for a medal but it did earn Team USA a bye into the quarterfinals. Former Badger Brian Rafalski continues to light the lamp with 2 more goals. Ryan Miller had 42 saves in the win. The Americans hadn't beaten Canada in an Olympic hockey game since 1960.

Apolo Anton Ohno passed Bonnie Blair as the biggest medal winner in American Olympic history. He earned his 7th on Saturday night.

Bode Miller has washed the bad taste of Torino out of his mouth with a gold medal win in the super-combined yesterday. He now has 3 medals in these games.

So far, so good for newly aquired John Salmons and the Bucks. He played a big role in both of their wins over the weekend. The Bucks play at New York tonight.

The Badgers held off Northwestern yesterday to earn their 20th victory of the season. Jason Bohannon had 17 and moved passed Brian Butch and Marcus Landry on teh Badger all-time scoring list. They play at Indiana on Thursday.

Congrats to UWSP women's basketball coach Shirley Egner. She was chosen this week as part of the 2010 class for the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Hall Of Fame. Egner picked up her 500th coaching victory earlier this season.

Dreams Go By-Harry Chapin (1975) a cut from his "Portrait Gallery" Lp. His story songs could be a bit heavy-handed at times but some of them hit the mark. Saw him play at UWSP in college. He could hold an audience. Died too young.

Drift Away-Dobie Gray (1973) has been done by many people but Gray's version was the biggest hit going to number 5. it's a funky little version and the chorus is hard not to singalong with.
