NFL Round 2

Who do you like this week? How about Dallas, Arizona, Indy & SD.  My pre-season picks for the Super Bowl were Dallas and San Diego so I guess I have to stick with the Cowboys although the Vikings could certainly win that game. The Cardinals and Ravens could also move on but I just can't give the Jets much of  chance.

Good to see that the Packers have brought in another punter to compete with Jeremy Kapinos. I don't know much about Tim Masthay but he was rated 5th in the country when he was at Kentucky. The Packer kicking game and special teams struggled so you would expect some changes to be made.

Wausau West is putting together a fabulous winter sports season. The Hockey team is ranked 2nd in the state and won again last night...the wrestling team continues to prosper hammering Rhinelander last night. Both the boys and girls basketball teams are contending for conference titles..it's a good time to be a West sports fan.

Doubleheader high school boys basketball tonight on Foxsports1390 WRIG...first up DC Everest at MArshfield...then I'll have the East boys at Lakeland. It all starts at 7.

Songs of the Day

Don't Cross the River-America (1972) the trio of Gerry Beckley, Dan Peek & Dewey Bunnell met in Europe where their fathers were deployed in the army. They helped popularize the acoustic "California" folk/rock sound. This is from their 2nd LP "Homecoming".

Don't Come Around Here No More-Tom Petty (1985) a tune that Petty wrote with Dave Stewart of the Eurytmics. It reportedly is about an encounter Stewart had with Stevie Nicks after she broke up with Joe Walsh. They turned it into an "Alice In Wonderland" video. Stewart is the hookah smoking sitar player.
