J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets!

What are we supposed to think about a team that starts a rookie QB, doesn't throw the ball down the field, and has been bad for as long as most people can remember? The Jets weren't even supposed to make the playoffs and only got in because the Colts & Bengals rested their starters in the last two games of the regular season....but here they are in the AFC championship game after beating San Diego yesterday. Can you win a Super Bowl in today's NFL with a solid running game and great defense? Once again they don't matchup with the high powered Indy offense this week but they don't care.

Good to see Jim Leonhard...the pride of Tony Wisconsin being such a big part of the Jets defense...he has become a solid NFL player when everyone said he was too small, slow, etc to make it out of college.

Those of us who thought Brett Favre would break down at some point this season have to admit we were wrong. Favre has been rejuvenated and has led Minnesota to the brink of another Super Bowl. He's been fabulous...that being said I still would have made the same decision if I was in Ted Thompson's shoes. We needed to start the Aaron Rodgers era and now have one of the best qbs in the game fo a nice long run.

The Bucks finish up their road trip from hell tonight in Houston.

The Badger women's basketball team is off to their best start under coach Lisa Stone. They beat Illinois yesterday  to go to 15-4 overall

Congrats to Wausau's Matt Schulz who came back from a broken neck last year to win this years World Championship Snowmobile Derby in Eagle River. He led the entire race outlasting the other favorite in the race, three-time winner P.J. Wanderscheid.

Songs of The Day

Don't Do It-The Band (1971) a remake of a Marvin Gaye hit...the Band did many versions of this and it was a concert staple for them.

Don't Eat the Yellow Snow-Frank Zappa (1974) This opus took up an entire side of Zappa's classic Lp "Apostrophe". It tells the tale of an eskimo boy named Nanook as only Frank can tell it....plus alot of great playing from his crack band musicians.
