The Badger men's basketball team was in big trouble. they were down 16 midway through the 2nd half Sunday against unranked Penn State at the Kohl Center. The Badgers have never lost to an unranked Big Ten opponent at home since Bo Ryan took over the program. Jordan Taylor wouldnt let it happen this time either. Taylor, who had been shooting poorly including a few air balls earlier in the game, scored 18 of Wisconsin's final 24 points. He hit the last 8 points of regulation to force overtime and Wisconsin went on to win 79-71. The Badgers really miss Jon Leuer's inside presence and when the guards are not shooting well (like early in this game) it's tough for Wisconsin to score. Taylor, Trevon Hughes and Jason Bohannon really recovered in this one...check out this combined line for the three....55 points, 13 rebounds, 12 assists, five blocks, nine steals and just one turnover. The Badgers travel to Purdue on Thursday.
Brett Favre was beaten and battered after yesterdays game and all the press wanted to know was are you retiring? Give it a rest...either he'll come back or he won't...let him let us know.
The Wausau East hockey team has won 5 in a row and faces a big week as they travel to Spash on Tuesday and take on Wausau West on Thursday. The Lumberjacks are skating well and the power play is clicking...they were hammered by Spash earlier in the season and came within an eyelash of sending their game with West to overtime...add to that all of the backstage drama going on between the two schools and it should be very interesting Thursday night at Marathon Park. I'll have the action on Foxsports 1390, WRIG both nights.
Songs of the Day
Don't Let It Bring You Down-Annie Lennox (1995) the former Eurythmics singer did this Neil Young song as part of an excellent cd called "Medusa"...what a voice.
Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight-James Taylor (1972) from 'One Man Dog" comes this tune featuring Taylor's laconic voice and the great Michael Brecker on sax.
