The Brewers Will Be Better

Posted by Tom King on

I watched some of the Brewer game from Phoenix yesterday and outside of the fact that it's great to have baseball back...it's also great to see that Mark Attanasio is willing to spend some money to improve the Brewers. A few months ago it seemed inconcievable that Prince Fielder would be back with the Brewers after his contract expires in two years.....now it will be a surprise if he doesnt sign a long term deal well before that. The Brewers have improved their pitching staff with Wolf, Davis and Schowenweis...they improved at catcher with Gregg Zaun and with a healthy Rickie Weeks combined with Alcides Escobar and Carlos Gomez they are a much faster team as well. Going into yesterday's game they had 8 stolen bases in 4 games and had yet to be caught. If you are a Brewer fan you should be excited about this season and a return to the playoffs. you can hear the games on WSAU and WSAU-FM.

The girls high school basketball tournament begins tonight. You can hear a Doubleheader on our sister station Foxsports1390WRIG . I'll have the Wausau East-Eau Claire North game live with pregame programming at 6:30...the tip set for 7. That will be followed by the DC Everest-Eau Claire Memorial game as the 2nd game of the DH.

Songs of the Day (from my Ipod)

Eggplant-Michael Franks (1976) from his fabulous debut "The Art Of Tea" came this whimsical love song featuring the solid jazz backing of The Crusaders. If you want to relax...put on a Franks disc and be slowly lifted away. Here is a stripped down live version without the keyboards.

Eight Miles High-The Byrds (1966) written about their tour of England in 1965 and incorporating some of the influence of the Ravi Shankar and John Coltrane music they were listening to at the time. A slice of psychedelia well before the "Summer Of Love"
