Badgers Earn Their Bye

Posted by Tom King on

The Badger football team has made it through the toughest part of the schedule and won back to back games against ranked opponents for the first time since 2004. If the big boys keep falling...the Badgers could find themselves in a BCS Bowl game. And they did it without James White, Nick Toon and Lance Kendricks for much of the game. Outstanding.

The Brett Favre circus came to Lambeau last night and Aaron Rodgers finally got the moneky off his back...beating Favre and the Vikings. With the ineptitude of this division, the Packers find themselves tied for first even with all of the injuries. By the way, it was reported yesterday that Favre admits to leaving the voice mail messages with Jenna Sterger but not sending the pictures. Do you believe him?

The Pointer football team has won three conference games in a row and now go on the road this week to Whitewater. The Warhawks got all but two of the 25 first place votes this week in the D-3 poll.

Kind of wierd...The Brewers kept Dale Sveum as hitting coach over the weekend even though they havent hired a new manager yet.

Happy Birthday to Dan Issel and Dave Cowens...two undersized but excellent centers of the 60's and 70's. They both turn 62 today. I'm reading "The Book of Basketball" by Bill Simmons...a must read for hoops fans...he talks about Cowens and how determined a player he was. I rememeber watching him and I agree. He made the most of his skills.

Songs of The Day     (from My I-pod)

Goody Two Shoes-Adam Ant (1982) as MTV erupted "the look" became as important as "the sound".

Gorilla, Youre a Desperado-Warren Zevon (1980) another ascerbic take on life in Southern California from the master of the genre. Love it that he used Henley & Frey to provide backing vocals.
