Move Along...Nothing To See Here

The Packers lost last night but it really means nothing. The Chiefs scored with their starters against the Packer reserves. Many of the Packer starters didnt play. It's a tough cutdown weekend for the Packer coaches. They have some decisions to make at DL, LB ,TE,FB and DB. I'm not sure how I feel about extending the regular season. Obviously as a fan you'd rather wtach games that mean something...but yet the players realize that two more meaningful games equal more injuries and shortened careers...plus possible debilitating physical conditions after retirement. We view these guys as disposable gladiators who trade thier long-term health for vast riches. That doesnt mean that we have to enjoy watching them hobble around in middle age to feed our appetitie for fantasy football.

The Pointer football team begins the season tomorrow at home against Willamette of Oregon. The Pointers are ranked 16th in the D-3 preseason polls.

Another big night of high school football including a 1 vs 2 matchup in central Wisconsin. #2 ranked Stevens Point will host #1 ranked Kenosha Bradford. We have a doubleheader on Foxsports1390 WRIG tonight ...first up DC Everest at Superior followed by Sparta at Wausau East.

Songs of The Day   (from my Ipod)

Give A Little Bit-Supertramp (1977) from the "Even in The Quietest Moments" Lp which featured an interesting cover shot of a snow-covered piano ontop of a mountain. It's an actual picture as they took a piano of a ski-lift at the Eldora ski area in Colorado.

Give Ireland Back to The Irish-Paul McCartney & Wings (1972) The 'cute' Beatle gets political with this song in response to the Bloody Sunday events. The song was banned by the BBC so Paul's next single after this was a nursery rhyme..."Mary Had A Little Lamb".
