Vindicated?

Ryan Braun told reporters he feels "vindicated". He spoke at the All-Star game where he is the only Brewer player for tonights game. He says his perfomance in the first half of this season has vindicated him of performance enhancing drug charges that were overturned by an arbitrator over the winter. He says he is playing as well as he ever has. What do you think? Does his performance so far this year wipe out any doubts you might have about his guilt or innocence?

The Wisconsin Woodchucks have started the second half of the season 4-0 after beating Lakeshore last night 6-5. But, if they hope to contend for a Division title they have to shore up the defense. It was atrocious last night and hasnt been much better in most of the games I've seen. This league is about pitching and defense and the Chucks seem to have enough pitching...but they are going to have to outslug teams if they consistently give their opponents 4 or five outs an inning.

Legion baseball on the schedule tonight includes Wausau at Merrill, Stevens Point at RSW and Marshfield at Wisconsin Rapids.

Congrats to Pete Susens who will go into the Wisconsin Hockey Hall-of-Fame this fall. The Wausau West coach will be part of the class inducted on Sept 8 in Eagle River.

Songs of The Day    (from my I-pod)

Johnny Strikes Up The Band-Warren Zevon (1978) the first track from "Excitable Boy"...I've read that this is about Johnny Carson

Johnny's Garden-Stephen Stills & Manassas (1972) I always thought this was a song about John Lennon's garden but it actually is about a house that Stills bought in Surrey England from Peter Sellers. It had a beautiful garden tended by a guy named Johnny...who Sellers later based his character Chance on  in "Being There" It became Stills refuge where he wrote a number of his seventies classics.
