Big Ten Championship In Sights

Posted by Tom King on

The fall out from the Penn State scandal and NCAA punishment will not only affect the Nittany Lions program but all of the Big Ten teams. Wisconsin's road to the Big Ten football championship game is ceratinly easier. With both Ohio State and Penn State not eligible for post season play, the Badgers only have to deal with Indiana, Illinois & Purdue in their division this season. Also some current Penn State recruits have renounced their commitments and are visiting other schools including Wisconsin. There is a Big Ten rule in place that would have to be changed. The conference passed a rule last year that says a transfer within the conference must sit out one year and also lose a year of eligibility. They may relax that rule in the Penn State case.

The Brewers continue to struggle with their bullpen. K-Rod may have brought something in a trade...but now after 5 blown saves and five losses it probably wont be much.

The Northwoods League all-Star game is tonight in MAdison. Skyler Ewing, Brendan Hayden, Brooks Braga & Jack Fischer are representing the Chucks. The regular season resumes on Thursday.
