The Wisconsin Woodchucks have put together what I'm told is a very good roster. The unfortunate thing, at least in the first couple of weeks of the season, is that many of those players are still playing college ball in the NCAA tounament. That leaves manager Eric Supplee to piece together lineups look much different than we will see in the later parts of June. The problem is that the Chucks can fall behind in the standings and suffer big defeats because they don't have alot of pitchers on hand and are playing guys out of psoition. The hope is that the team can at least tread water ubtil the cavalry arrive. They get back at it tonight hosting La Crosse. I'll be in the booth with Jim Sannes tonight and Tuesday and hope you can join us on Foxsports1390.
The Major league baseball amatuer draft begins today. So a number of players that the Woodchucks and other Northwoods League teams are counting on may get drafted. The Milwaukee Brewers have 3 of the top 38 picks in this years draft.
The Brewers have the day off today. They have a home series with the Cubs beginning on Tuesday.
Is Tiger Woods back? He says he will leave that determination to the writers but he said that he could hit any shot he wanted yesterday in his final round win at the Memorial. He birdied three of the final four holes including a chip-in on 16. He also is now tied for second place on the all-time PGA tour wins list with Jack Nicklaus.
Congrats to the Edgar girls & boys track & field teams. They both won D-3 state titles on Saturday. The State golf meet begins today at University Ridge in Madison. A number of indivdual golfers from our area are playing...and Stevens Point qualified as a team.

Happy Birthday to Michelle Phillips of the Mamas & Papas...she is 68 today.
Safe In The Garden-The Mamas & Papas (1968) Its sometimes hard to get past what a creep John Phillips was while listening to them...but there is no denying the four voices could meld beautifully.
Young Girls Are Coming From The Canyon-The Mamas & Papas (1967) These harmonies are so good.
