With the Packers on their bye week Wisconsin sports fans will focus on the Badgers as both the football & basketball teams play this weekend. The football team can punch their ticket to the Big Ten championship game with a victory over Indiana on Saturday. Now this isnt your fathers Indiana football team...they are actually decent and believe they can win the biggest game thay have played in quite awhile. Curt Phillips will get his first start at quarterback and I think he can give the team the added bonus of making plays with his legs...something that OBrien and Stave cant really do.
The hoops team is at home Sunday against Southeastern Louisiana. What will make these early games interesting is checking out the newer players and how they will mesh with the returning seniors.
You can hear both games on WSAU...football on Saturday at 9am...basketball at noon on Sunday.
Marquette plays tonight on an aircraft carrier. They face Ohio State in South Carolina on the deck of the USS Yorktown.
High school football playoff action is coming down to the wire. Colby vs Amherst and Edgar vs Eau Claire Regis tonight with trips to the state finals on the line. Marshfield plays Homestead tomorrow.
Songs of The Day (from my I-pod)
The Last Worthless Evening-Don Henley (1989) from his solo album "The End Of The Innocence" filled with great songs. This is supposedly about his unrequited love for Michelle Pfeiffer.
Late For The Sky-Jackson Browne (1974) the title track from his 3rd album and one of his best..you may remember this one from the movie 'Taxi river"
