The NASCAR season is down to one race and Brad Kesolowski is in position to win his first Sprint Cup Title. He's up 20 points going into Miami next week after Jimmie Johnson blew a tire and finished well back yesterday in Phoenix. But the real story was on pit road yesterday where the crews of Clint Bowyer and Jeff Gordon got into a brawl. And this wasnt some pushing and shoving...this was a flat out fight with punches and guys being thrown down on the cement. I wouldnt be surprised if tire irons were used. Expect big fines and suspensions as a whole season of frustration came to a boil yesterday. Here it is:
It was an interesting day in the NFL despite the Packers being off. The Bears lost a game and a quarterback. Houston holds Chicago to 6 points and knocks Jay Cutler out with a concussion. He was one of three QBs who suffered concussions on sunday. Alex Smith and Mike Vick left their games as well.
New Orleans dropped Atlanta from the ranks of the unbeaten and there was a tie as the Rams and 49ers both missed field goal attempts in overtime. I'm sure that will play into the playoff tie breakers at some point.
It appears Mike D'Antoni will return to the NBA with the Lakers...Phil Jackson wasnt interested in coming back. The Bucks dropped their matchup with Boston on Saturday and return to action tonight at Philly.
The Badger basketball team scored the first 19 points and rolled over Southeastern Louisiana. good to see Mike Brusewitz back in the lineup suffering no ill effects from his gruesome injury. He didnt miss a shot and scored 10. Bucky heads to Florida on Wednesday night.
The Badger football team quickly took away any thought that Indiana had about possibly winning Saturday's game. A dominating performance by the ground attack. Ball and White were good again but I really like the flashes I see from Melvin Gordon...he's going to be a good one.
The high school basketball season begins this week. I'll have the Wausau EAst-Mosinee game on Thursday night to begin our East broadcasts on Foxsports1390.
Songs of The Day (from my I-pod)
One of my favorite albums "The River" by Bruce Springsteen tooped the charts on this day in 1980...here's a couple of tunes from that.
The River-Bruce Springsteen (1980) The subject matter is something he visited alot but the hauting harmonica and the breaking voice made this a keeper
Drive All Night-Bruce Springsteen (1980) when someone asks for an example of putting everything into a song...play this and stand back
