No coach wants to give up on a struggling player. I remember times when I had baseball players that went into prolonged slumps and I stayed with them...probably too long at times...because you want your players to succeed and, as the old saying goes, you cant end a slump from the bench. Mike McCarthy said after the game yesterday that he's sticking with struggling kicker Mason Crosby. Crosby has missed 6 of his last twelve field goal attempts. A 500 batting average will get you into the Hall Of Fame in baseball...but in NFL kicking...it usually gets you a spot in the unemployment line. That's where many Packer fans on social media yesterday were suggesting he be headed. Packer fans are loyal when a player is going well but they can also turn on you with a vengeance if you don't produce. We'll see if McCarthys vote of confidence helps Crosby regain his...but I would be surprised if the coach's patience for missed kicks will last longer than the next losing game.

The Badgers gave it a good run but came up short on Saturday. Some of the flaws in Curt Phillips game were exposed. His passes fluttered...he missed open recievers. But Wisconsin does need to address the lack of good wideouts. With the exception of Jared Abbrederiss there isnt anyone to stretch the field and help the quarterbacks when they need to throw to win a game.

The Badger basketball team bounced back for an easy win over Cornell yesterday. Double-Doubles for Ben Brust and Ryan Evans. They have another easy one tomorrow night before heading to Las Vegas later this week.

The Bucks are off to their best start in quite some time and kept it going Saturday night. The tandem of Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings keep lighting it up. They are in Charlotte tonight before heading to Miami on Wednesday. That should be an interesting test.
