The regular refs are back. That is great news for football fans. But, remember, the regular guys certainly had their lapses as well. It wasnt long ago that we mocking the mistakes of the regular guys we are now welcoming back like conquering heroes. Obviously they will be better than what we have seen the last three weeks. And all we can hope for is that they can control the games and keep the mistakes to a minimum. That is about what we should hope for and be satisfied even when you disagree with some of their calls.
The regulars will be back on the field for tonight's Cleveland at Baltimore game.
The Brewers remain alive after beating the Reds last night. Shaun Marcum looked good as he auditions for a job for next year. Nori Aoki continues to amaze with his production...three more hits and his 10th homer of the season. Day baseball today at Cincy...pre game show at 11:05 on WSAU. St. Louis is off.
I dont think we have seen a baseball season like this in quite awhile...with so many formerly bad teams all of a sudden looking at the playoffs. The stories in Oakland and Baltimore are quite remarkable. and once again shows that if you are astute with your free agent signings...make some shrewd trades and develop some quality in the minor leagues you can compete in a small market on a budget. The margin for error is low and you cant afford to make expensive mistakes but it can be done.
Songs of The Day (from my I-pod)
Kinda Kute-Joe Jackson (1979) from his classic 2nd LP "I'm the Man". One of the top practioners of what was called "New Wave"
King Harvest Will Surely Come-The Band (1969) showing every other group how it's done. Can you just smell the woodsmoke and decaying leaves?
