The Badgers and Bucks. Two teams going in opposite directions. Wisconsin has gotten progressively better as the season has gone on while Milwaukee all of a sudden has dropped six of seven and find themselves in a real battle to make the playoffs again.
The Bucks are rumored to be in the trade market heading to this week's deadline and the talk is about Atlanta Hawk star Josh Smith who has been on the block. He was quoted this week as saying he would like to play with Jennings and Ellis and would not be adverse at re-signing with Milwaukee at the end of the season. This is shocking in many ways. It's rare for an established free agent player to want to play in Milwaukee. And if the Bucks can find a way to aquire Smith without giving up Jennings or Ellis (Ilyasova anyone), they could right the ship in the two remaining months. They play Atlanta this Saturday...could Smith be in a Bucks uni?...You would hope they could regain at least the 7th spot in the playoffs and avoid a first round shredding by Miami, but at this point just winning a few games would be a welcome relief.
The Badgers meanwhile just keep on truckin. Despite a stumble here and there, which should be expected in the Big Ten this year, the Badgers are on their way to another Top 4 finish in the conference...a definite chance to win the Big Ten Tournament and a deep run in the NCAA's. Very few teams play defense like Bucky and although it isnt pretty sometimes...when they are knocking down their outside shots...theya re going to win alot of games. They get so many open looks out of the offense they run and Brust & Dekker give them two sharpshooters to go along with the occasional rainbow from the killer B's
NASCAR fans are all hyped up for the Daytona 500. The twin dual qualifying races are today to see what the rest of the field will look like behind Danica Patrick and Jeff Gordon who have already clinched the front row. Matt Kenseth has a new team and is looking for big things this year.
The girls high school basketball regular season comes to an end tonight. I'll be in Rhinelander with the East girls on a tape delay following the Everest-Spash matchup on FoxsportsAM 1390 & FM 93.9
Enjoyed my conversation with former Bucks broadcaster Eddie Doucette yesterday. You can find it in the podcast section of the website. He will join Ted Davis in the booth next Wednesday when the Bucks host the Clippers and do two quarters of play-by-play. Should be a hoot...you can hear that game on Foxsports AM1390 & Fm 93.9.

Loan Me A Dime-Boz Scaggs (1969) before he was a slick LA pop star Scaggs was a Texas bluesman and left the Steve Miller Band to go solo. This outstanding track is from his 2nd solo album and features the Muscle Shoals Rythm section and the legendary Duane Allman
Local Girls-Graham Parker (1979) one of a plethora of English artists that were part of the so-called New Wave movement of the late 70's. He was better than most
