The UWSP mens and womens basketball teams head into NCAA D-3 Tournament play later this week. The Pointer women earned an automatic bid after winning the WIAC Tournament on Sunday. They will face Concordia-Moorhead in a first round game Friday in Indianola, Iowa.
The Pointer men received an at-large bid yesterday and will host Northwestern of Minnesota on Saturday. Also Coach Bob Semling was named WIAC Coach-Of-The-Year on Monday.Trevor Hass and Clayton Heuer were named first team All-WIAC and Jordan Giordana was named the Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Tom Brady signed a 3 year extension with the Patriots this week that will pay him $27 million. It's alot less then he could have got on the open market (maybe half as much) so obviously he is comfortable in New England and in Brady's world it's not all about money. Could Aaron Rodgers give the Packers this kind of discount...something tells me no since Rodgers is in his prime and not nearing the end. Plus he and his agent know the Packers will pay whatever they have to to keep him. He has no reason to give the Packers a discount.
The Badgers will try and keep it rolling tonight as they take on Nebraska. You can hear the game on WSAU.
Marquette got 55 points from their bench and only 19 from their starters last night in their big win over Syracuse. It's not often that you see that kind of scoring disparity.
I'll be traveling to Hudson tonight to cover the East-Hudson girls basketball tournament game. You can hear it on Foxsports AM1390 & FM 93.9 at 6:45. Since it will be a late night tonight I'll be taking a day of vaction tomorrow. I'll talk with you again on Thursday.
Songs of The Day (from my I-pod)
Lodi-Creedence Clearwater Revival (1969) This was the song that turned me on to CCR. Wausau radio played this alot and I discovered one of the greatest rock bands in American history. Just great stuff
The Logical Song-Supertramp (1979) from the band's biggest selling album "Breakfast in America". Roger Hodgson still tours as a solo act singing thses songs.
