Whether it was stubborness or too much faith in personell, the Packers saw their season come to an end on Saturday night in San Francisco. When even a casual fan can see the problem...is it too much for the Packer brass to fix it or at least try something different. When Colin Kapernaek has those kinds of lanes to run through over and over again, what was the thinking in keeping the defensive plan going into the second half. Many Packer fans are calling for Dom Capers head. I understand that the defense suffered some injuries this year...especicilly at linebacker...and that Mike McCarhty and Ted Thompson are loath to make major changes in the coaching staff if they can avoid it...but this is two straight years of defensive inaqdequacy so it may be time to make a change.

Donald Driver and Greg Jennings have probably played their last game as a Packer. I didnt read the entire interview but I'm told that Jennings wasnt too gracious during a final interview yesterday.

Positives this season include the blossoming of James Jones & Randall Cobb. The play of young d-backs like Casey Heyward...and the play down the stretch of Dujuan Harris. Is he big enough to stay healthy in the NFL?...well he certainly is fast and shifty enough and I like the way he attacks the defense. We'll see what the Pack plans with Benson, Starks, Green etc going into next season.

Too bad about Russell Wilson. It looked  like he would add to his rookie saga with that last second drive to take the lead on Sunday but credit Atlanta with moving the ball into fiedl goal range to win it. Wilson. Griffin, Luck and now Kaperenick...what a group of young QBs that are making their early mark on the league.

The Bucks beat Toronto on the road Sunday. They were down 20 before rallying behind Brandon Jennings. They head west now and face the stumbling Lakers on Tuesday night.

How bout the play of the Badgers on Saturday? They finally knocked down some three's and killed Illinois on the boards for a nice win to go 3-0 in the Big Ten. Now a tough road game Tuesday at Indiana.

My son Cory played in the pond hockey tournament out at Sunnyvale Park this weekend and after a tough start because of the warm weather...the Sports Authority was able to pull it off. Lots of familiar faces for local hockey fans were seen as former players risked pulled muscles and their egos to play the game they love. Plus they brought in the Hanson Brothers from the classic movie 'Slap Shot" on Saturday. Those guys were great...they let anyone who wanted get pictures with them in various poses.

Speaking of hockey...the Badgers are the hottest team around right now...unbeaten in their last ten games after a weekend sweep of Mankato. And the NHL training camps opened this weekend. Puckheads are happy again.
