I've been reading the message board scrawlings of numerous Packer fans who seem to think that a players career should begin and end in Green Bay. A player shouldnt even consider plying his trade for another team, especially the hated Vikings. It all comes up again after a report thet the Vikings are considering signing Donald Driver. Now in my opinion they would be better served going after Greg Jennings to shore up their pathetic receiving corps, but Driver is certainly a cheaper option. The Packers clearly decided that Driver was done this year. He had lost a step and couldnt get open consistently enough & wasnt as good as the other options that the Packers had at the position. He had been a loyal soldier for years and was the all-time leading reciever in Packer history, but the time had come to cut the cord. Now what if Driver still wants to play? He could still get a nice payday from some team, like the Vikings that has a black hole at the position. Why should Packer fans resent him for doing that? Very few players...even great ones...finish their career with the same team...but it seems that it's only Packer fans that go into a tizzy when one of "their" guys moves on. This is a business. Most of these guys are mercenaries who will go where the money is...you've got to face it...they don't care about your team as much as you do....most (not all) wouldnt care what uniform they were wearing if it meant a title and a big payday. Is Driver that way? No, I truly believe that he loves Green Bay because they gave him a chance...but they dont want him anymore and if the Vikings or anybody else does...it shouldnt change the way you feel about him.
Brett Favre is back...on tv. He will be an analyst on the NFL Networks gargantuan Super Bowl pre-game show. I've got to believe this is a one-shot. I can't see Favre doing this on a weekly basis.
The Bucks had come from behind to beat the Bulls twice this season...not this time. Playing for the second night in a row, Milwaukee didnt have a comeback in them as Chicago wins 104-88. Trash talking Nate Robinson led the way with 24 and goaded Brandon Jennings into getting ejected. The Bucks are at New York to face the Knicks on Friday.
The Ponters lost for the first time in conference play last night at Platteville. Point is now 18-3, 11-1 and will play at La Crosse on Saturday. The Pointer women won their matchup with Platteville.
