This is very simple; she's an adult, the girl isn't. That would be a crime if this was a heterosexual couple. Now, might the motivation for the girl's parents pursuing this be the fact it's a same-sex relationship? It might be. But that's really irrelevant. If Florida law is like Wisconsin law, a minor can't consent to sex. You can debate whether this should be changed. But the law doesn't have anything to do with this being a lesbian relationship. If the parents were unhappy with a boy their daughter was having sex with, they could have pushed for the same charges.
