State Representative Dean Kaufert owns a bar, that until today, had a sign that read: "Men — no shirt, no shoes no service; Women — no shirt, free beer, free pizza.” As Assembly Majority Leader Bill Kramer was being removed from that leadership position for alleged inapproriate behavior toward women, a reporter asked about the sign and Kaufert had it taken down.
Kaufert told the Journal Sentinel, "it's different in a bar." I've seen similar signs in many bars in Wisconsin, back in the day when I frequented many bars in Wisconsin. I'm guessing you'll still see signs like that in bars. I think Kaufert did the right thing in taking it down, but how offensive is such a sign?
