So with cries of Jim Crow and racism from the left, Republicans today passed a bill to create uniform early voting times around the state. Under the bill, which still needs Assembly approval, early voting in clerks' offices could occur only on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. As the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports, clerks would not be able to hold early voting during all of that period because they would be limited to allowing a total of 45 hours of early voting a week
For some reason I cannot fathom, liberals are convinced this two week period of voting will make it nearly impossible for blacks and other minorities to vote. Why don't they feel this will present a challenge for whites? Is this the racism of low expectations? Blacks, Hispanics and other minorities aren't capable of using a two week period prior to election day and election day itself to get out and vote? Why? And a lawsuit over this? That's laughable.
They accuse Republicans of hating minorities, on the Senate floor no less, but can't explain why this would create such a hardship. That's because it won't.
