I'm going to be very blunt here; the left needs to stop pissing on the memory of the Civil Rights Movement. Comparing Jason Collins to Jackie Robinson is a disgrace. It dilutes the accomplishments of a man who faced humiliation and degradation and physical abuse because he dared to play a sport he loved in a league that had always been whites only. Lives were lost on the way to the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Those would would fight for equality under the non-violent dictum of Dr. King were abused in unthinkable ways. To invoke his Dr. King in the matter of photo ID to vote is to piss on his memory and everything for which he worked so hard to achieve.

Shameful Scot Ross. Absolutely shameful:

Hey Jerry -

The leading Republican in the Wisconsin Assembly, Scott Walker’s top Lieutenant, Robin Vos, declared at the GOP Convention, “Voter ID will be in place for the 2014 election.”

We say, “Not on our watch.”

What do you say? Will you help us protect our right to vote in Wisconsin with a contribution today?

The GOP’s voter ID law would make it harder and more confusing for people like seniors and veterans to exercise their sacred right to the franchise. That’s un-democratic and un-American. And we’re not having any of it.

Your support has helped us be a leader in protecting voter rights in Wisconsin.

But there's more work to be done.

We need your support, today.

Thanks for all you do.
