Thirteen Worst Predictions Made on Earth Day 1970

by Jerry Bader

This is the problem for making predictions that don't exceed the human life span. Humanity will starve to death in ten years??? And you thought the bogus global warming predictions were extreme. In fact, global famine predictions in the next 10 to 30 years (1980 to 2000) dominate the list. And then there is this gem:

"In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution by 1985 air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half." Life magazine

I once heard a quote attributed to Johnny Carson, but I have no idea who really said it: "To be safe, don't lie about the past, just the future." Whoever said it, even that advice isn't sound anymore. Of course, everyone making up this crap 44 years ago is either dead or doesn't care that they were proven wrong, so I guess me the advance is sound after all.

After all, that's what the global warming phonies are banking on.
