Matt Kenseth isnt the showiest driver in Nascar. In fact, he probably is one of the un-showiest. He's a Wisconsin guy surrounded by good ole boys. And he just keeps winning. Kenseth, who won the 2003 Championship with Roush Racing, joined a new team this year and the thought was that it may take awhile to jell. Ah...no. Kenseth won his 4th race of the year yesterday in Kentucky, which gives him the most since 2006. And he did it by holding off Jimmie Johnson on a re-start to pull off the victory. Kenseth's crew chief Jason Ratliffe made the gutsy call to stay out on old tires and hope the fuel held out until the end. Kenseth thought that the gamble wasnt going to work...but it did. Kenseth may not be as colorful as Kyle Busch and Tony Stewart...may not have as many endorsements as Danica or Junior...may not be the hot new thing...but I'll take solid and dependable over flash anyday...and "Old Dependable" has been pretty good about getting into the winners circle theses days too.
The Woodchucks have alot of new guys going into the 2nd half of the Northwoods League season and it should bode well especially on defense. The lineup I saw on Saturday night looked like it could be very good. They hope that is the case after a very disappointing first half. You can help the Chucks celebrate their 20th anniversary tonight as they battle Eau Claire at Athletic Park. You can hear the game on FoxsportsAM1390 & FM 93.9.
The Wausau Post 10 Bulldogs went 2-2 on the weekend at the Chippewa Falls tournament. They are now 12-9 on the season and will play at RSW tonight. 7pm game time.
