The running joke in recent years is "Where can you find a Packer Alumni game?" and of course the answer has been "The Metrodome" Ryan Longwell, Darren Sharper, Brett Favre and others including the latest, Greg Jennings. And now another former packer may make the trip West. Linebacker Desmond Bishop was cut by the Packers in a salary cap move on Monday. Bishop missed all of last season with a severe hamstring injury and the Packers decided to go with AJ Hawk and Brad Jones at inside linebacker. It was only two years ago that Bishop signed a four year, $19 million extension to his contract .Bishop will visit Minnesota today on his first free agent visit. The Vikings are looking for some better defensive players and of course are never averse to poking their long time rivals by signing up their rejects.
Wausau West grad Adam Kramer continues to pitch well with the Woodchucks but is still looking for his first win. Last night Kramer took a no-hitter into the 7th inning before giving up a couple of hits and being pulled. The bullpen imploded and it quickly turned into the fifth loss in a row for the Chucks. One of the big problems is the lack of hitting. The Chucks offense is hitting well below .200 in this recent stretch. The Chucks and Eau Claire play tonight at Athletic Park... I'll join Jim Sannes in the booth again tonight pre game at 6:15 on Foxsports1390 & FM 93.9.
Legion baseball tonight includes Rapids at Merrill and Plover at Stevens Point. Wausau Post 10 returns to action on Wednesday...hosting Marshfield.
