The Milwaukee Brewers kept it rolling over the weekend with a sweep of the Pirates. 3 straight sweeps of three game series...that doesnt happen very often. And the way they are doing it augers well for the future as well. They are hitting...Gomez, Braun & especially Ramirez are anchoring the lineup but they are also getting contributions from alot of other guys too...the pitching has been spectacular with the best era in baseball...but most importantly they have been playing good defense and limiting mistakes while taking advantage of other teams miscues. The defense yesterday (Segura and Schaefer made highlight reel plays that will be replayed all season) was special and the double play Saturday night that went 2-6-1 cutting down the lead run at the plate was one of those plays that separates hot teams from mediocre ones. The price of poker goes up the next few days as the Cardinals come to town...lets see what happens.
The Stanley Cup playoffs get underway this week and the NBA regular season ends as well. The Bucks got a win over the weekend but still have the best chance to get the number 1 pick in the draft...they have two games remaining...tonight in Toronto and Wednesday at home vs Atlanta.
The weather is once again playing havoc with the high school schedule. Im supposed to have games tonight, Tuesday and Thursday but it sure doesnt look good. It's also cutting into my scouting for the Legion team. Hard to judge players when all they can do is take ground balls in the gym.
