After a lost weekend in Denver the Milwaukee Brewers face a tough task on Tuesday night. They will play the Washington Nationals in DC . 162 games and it all comes down to this one game on the road against Max Scherzer and a team that has been red hot down the stretch. The Brewers were hot too until this weekend when they were swept by the Rockies. Sundays game was a mess but it was Saturday night that was the real gut punch. One out away and Josh Hader on the mound, the Rockies tied it and then won it in 10 innings. The game also showed the flawed replay system in all its glory. Why even have replay if youre still going to get the call wrong? After not commenting other than to say the decision was made in New York, MLB said Sunday that the Rockies catcher was not blocking the plate without the ball when Lorenzo Cain slid in…they said the throw took him into the runner. I'm not sure how you watched that replay and came up with that explanation.
Anyway, the Brewers are a banged up bunch and will now have to find a way to win one game against a good team and one of the top pitchers in baseball. The game is Tuesday night.
Tom Haudricourt reports that Christian Yelich will be the first repeat batting champion since Colorado's Larry Walker in 1998 & 1999. Should Yelich win the MVP again? You can make the argument that he should and his late season injury should not be a factor.
I'm seeing alot of Jack Coan hatred being bandied about social media after the Badger offense struggled on Saturday. You knew this would happen at the first falter by Coan with Graham Mertz waiting in the wings. Yeah, the offense struggled but that starts with the running game and it was not a top notch day for the hogs up front. But…ya gotta love that Badger D. Nobody knew what Wisconsin had on defense coming into the season but they have been remarkable. They get a midseason non conference game vs Kent State this week. I don't know about you but there should be no non-conference games in October. Big Ten games only please.
A story from the Journal-Sentinel on how Jump Around became a thing at Badger games. you can read it

I've watched two of the new fall shows on the major networks. Both Prodigal Son on Fox and Evil on CBS deserve a shot. Evil was particularly compelling and should lead to some interesting philosophical discussions.
Covers of The Day (I just watched the Ken Burns Country episode that featured Hank Williams…how bout some tasty Hank Williams covers today)
So true….I use the library every week.

“You can try to make things clear for viewers and inform the public. Or you can interview Giuliani. You cannot do both. Everyone in TV news knows this. And they choose. The confusion he spreads is strategic for him and a defeat for them, for it is impossible to resolve on air.”-Jay Rosen
