WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) There are three people who've applied to fill a vacancy on Wausau's city council.
Alderman Steve Foley resigned last month. He'll be moving out of district. Yesterday was the deadline for people who'd like to serve out Foley's term.
The three applicants are:
Wausau Art and Framing owner Chuck Gering. He's already served on the city's Rivers Edge Commission and the 400-block Advisory Committee.
Daniel McMullen, a construction sub-contactor. He's never held public office before.
E.O. Johnson executive David Nutting, who also serves on the Marathon County board. He's also a former city council member - having filled out a vacant term in 2005 and 2006.
The city council will interview the applicants next Tuesday, and is expected to fill the council seat on an interim basis on Tuesday night.
